Coatesville, PA - Two Child and Career Development Center (CCDC) students have been named "Shining Stars." Karan Shaird and Corrine Yost were selected as this year's Chester County Intermediate Unit Keystone Shining Star award-winners in recognition of their noticeable improvement in academic performance, extra-curricular involvement, attendance, and classroom conduct throughout the school year.
Both Karan and Corrine were presented with a $200 share certificate of deposit and a trophy from Keystone Federal Credit Union during an awards assembly at the school. In addition, the nominating teacher, Ms. Diane Diehle and Ms. Sue Besecker, respectively, received a $200 gift certificate to a teacher supply store to stock up on classroom supplies.
Chester County Public School teachers can nominate their most improved student for the award. Three students from each of the 12 Chester County Public School Districts, Twin Valley School District, and the Chester County Intermediate Unit win the award each year. Winners include one student from the elementary (K-5), middle (6-8), and high school (9-12) level from each district. All nominated students will receive a certificate of recognition.
Great work and congratulations to Karan and Corrine!
